What We Do / Sustainability

Scott Tallon Walker Architects has, for many years, championed the necessity and inherent benefits of sustainability to the construction industry. We strongly advocate the creation of healthy, efficient, uplifting buildings that benefit us all as a global community.

The construction industry must play a key role in ensuring energy consumption and carbon emissions are drastically reduced. It is our responsibility as architects, to lead the discussion and work with clients to deliver exemplar projects. Reductions in building energy usage and CO₂ emissions can be achieved with rigorous building design. Building orientation, extent of glazing or shading, thermal mass, and ventilation are fundamental architectural principles, vital to providing cost-optimal high-performance buildings.

Scott Tallon Walker is an active member of the Irish Green Building Council. We have an in-house ‘Sustainability Design Group’ to research new materials and adopt sustainable technologies. Our skilled, enthusiastic team will ensure that your project is developed, from inception to completion, with key sustainable design philosophies at its core.

Scott Tallon Walker also adheres to the ISO 14001 framework for environmental management and has committed to increase recycling, improve resource efficiency, reduce waste, and reduce the life-cycle costs of our business practices. We have staff accredited in BREEAM, LEED, WELL and Passive House design and have completed numerous projects to international sustainability standards.
