Ronan is a Director of STW. He joined the practice after an international career working on high profile projects including La Defense tower in Paris and the masterplan for the reconstruction of Potsdamer Platz in Berlin. Ronan leads the STW ‘Green Team’, which includes a registered BREEAM International Assessor and a LEED Green Associate, and convenes workshops for every project at key design stages.
Ronan has been the director in charge of several high profile projects. These include the recent Point Village redevelopment which was commended in the 2010 RIAI awards Sustainable Buildings category and was shortlisted for the World Architecture Festival in 2010. Ronan led this project from the early site acquisition & Masterplanning stages, which involved extensive collaborations with the DDDA in particular in relation to the North Lotts Amending Planning Scheme 2004, through to completion on site.
He has recently completed a New Wing for the Gate Theatre, an 18th Century listed building in Dublin. In addition, Ronan has extensive expertise in the design and delivery of specialist telecommunications buildings. He has delivered a Data Centre and the Network Management Centre for Eircom, Ireland’s principle telecommunications provider.
Ronan is currently working with UCD on the Masterplan for the Newman Joyce Precinct in Belfield Campus; a re-imagining of the Humanities faculties and main University Library to facilitate innovative methods of delivering teaching and research in the 21st century.
