Peter is a Director of Scott Tallon Walker Architects and is our leading expert in the design of advanced research facilities, possessing a wealth of international experience.
He has led the delivery of numerous specialist laboratory facilities including clean rooms, GMP facilities, and CL2 and CL3 containment laboratories for academic, healthcare and private clients in the fields of biotechnology, medical and biomedical research, pharmacy, genetics, cancer research, pharmaceutical production, blood processing, engineering, materials science, electronics and nano-technology.
Peter’s experience spans both higher education and institutional research facilities. His current projects include a new university medical school and the UK’s first centre for research in 5G mobile communications.
The success in-use of our completed laboratories is a direct result of Peter’s skill in working with scientific stakeholders to understand their needs and overcome the numerous technical challenges posed by the most complex building typologies. Peter’s familiarity with the needs of scientific end-users and technologies allows him to focus on achieving higher design goals, including enhanced visibility of science and environmental sustainability. Both goals are in evidence at the Tyndall National Institute for Nanotechnology Research, where the work of leading researchers is visible from the main atrium. These skills are also in evidence in his portfolio of projects for broadcast media, culminating in a current proposal for a 80,000 sqm world class facility for the digital era.
