Michael Tallon is Managing Director of Scott Tallon Walker Architects. With 35 years of experience at the leading edge of architectural practice, for 25 years he has also led the development of the firm into new markets and sectors. As chairman of the internal Design Review Board, Michael is the ultimate guardian of the practice’s proud legacy of delivering only the very highest quality in architectural design, finish and detail.
He has extensive experience in the design and delivery of award winning projects, with particular interest in commercial and mixed use developments and in higher education buildings. Michael has played a major role in the regeneration of Dublin’s docklands, where since the 1980s he has been responsible for several masterplans and for the subsequent delivery of numerous high quality commercial buildings for both owner-occupier and developer clients.
In the field of higher education, he has developed lasting relationships with several university clients. At the National University of Ireland Dublin, for example, he has been responsible for the Aula Maxima, Food Sciences building, University Industry Centre, and Computer Building, and has latterly been appointed to masterplan the phased refurbishment of the 55,000sqm library and arts building.
Michael’s lifelong commitment to the very highest standards in architectural quality, finish and detail is evident not just in the buildings he designs directly, but in upholding the ethos and standards for which the firm is renowned.
