Maynooth University, Student Housing

This scheme consists of 1000 student bedrooms and ancillary accommodation for Maynooth University. The proposed blocks are in a “ladder” arrangement as viewed in plan. Apart from being a highly efficient plan form, the proposed blocks create a series of four separate walled residential “quads” inhabited and animated by student life. Access to these garden quads is through an undercroft which acts as a privacy threshold from the more public student street. This whole arrangement forms a set of strong architectural spaces and a sense of place.
