Architecture

The centre is designed to be an ‘open urban oasis’ with pleasant aspects, views and interaction with the natural environment ensuring the majority of rooms have sun at certain parts of the day.

This design approach relates across all scales; from the building as a whole (the patient/visitor arrival journey is simple and clear, and never disengaged from an outside view in the new facility), down to detail (a view of landscaped outdoor space and existing woodland beyond), thus seeking to positively support each visitor’s capabilities, autonomy and sense of self-significance, no matter how diminished those may be.

We have created an environment which will help patients feel at ease, be conducive to efficient working, and contribute to staff morale. Where possible, rooms will be provided with natural light/ ventilation and provide the facility for environmental control.

The building accommodates 6 GP Practices, Diagnostic Imaging, Physiotherapy, Hydrotherapy, Adult and Children’s Mental Health Services, Pharmacy, Allied Health Services and administration for outreach services.
