Marks & Spencer Grafton Street

Scott Tallon Walker Architects have been involved with a number of retail projects for Marks and Spencer in both the UK and in Ireland. UK projects include the first Marks and Spencer store in the city of London at Moorgate; a development in Temple Fortune, London NW11; and a refurbishment of a Grade 1 listed building in Belfast for their retail occupation.

Conservation

Marks and Spencer’s flagship Irish store, of approx 6,242m2, comprises 3 sides of an historic city block on Dublin’s pedestrian Grafton Street. Existing listed facades were retained and restored and a new structure, including a new basement food hall, was constructed behind.

The scheme included the refurbishment of the existing facades, work to the adjacent Grafton Arcade shopping mall, and the refurbishment of a number of existing buildings.
