Rebecca Ryan, Project Director with Scott Tallon Walker Architects, is featured in this month's Stable Media Education, Design & Build Magazine, where she shared her insights on the delivery of Ulster University’s Belfast Campus expansion. The new campus, opened for the 2022/23 academic year, adds 75,000 sq. m. to the University to accommodate 15,000 students and staff, making it one of the largest higher education capital builds in Europe.
Through a collaborative approach, we were able to navigate through the challenges of the design and construction of a campus that fully integrates into a busy city centre location, whilst also ensuring that sustainability and community engagement were at the heart of the process. The project demonstrates our use of BIM and close collaboration with the University, contractors, and other key stakeholders to ensure maximum efficiency and cost reductions in the construction process. The result is a beautifully crafted and inclusive environment that not only inspires learning, but also embodies the essence of community and academic excellence.
