Work Commences on Site for the New National Isolation Unit, Mater Misericordiae University Hospital
13.02.2024

Work has started on site for the New National Isolation Unit at the Mater Misericordiae University Hospital, which will be located in the recently completed Rock Wing Building, also designed by Scott Tallon Walker Architects.

The concept of a ‘hospital within a hospital’ indicates a considered and specialised approach to handling high consequence infections. This facility will play a pivotal role in managing future public health crises and providing care for patients at the hospital.

Key design discussions took place at Lifesize Plans Leinster allowing the consultants and key users to experience the facility at 1:1 scale and in an immersive 3D environment.
