University College Cork - School of Pharmacy

The School of Pharmacy at UCC was designed for a square site which falls a full floor across its north-south axis. The building design incorporates a new public access to the campus from College Road and includes the urban design and implementation of an upgrade of the entire street frontage for the block.

The atrium at the heart of the building steps down from south to north as it bisects the building plan, bringing light to the heart of the building as it carries people through into the campus beyond.

The lower two levels of the building house the undergraduate facilities, including a coffee shop and concourse. The upper floors are secure and house research facilities. These facilities include an industry suite designed to attract research from the large pharmaceutical sector based in the Cork region.
