St John is a Director of Scott Tallon Walker Architects, joining the practice in 2004. He graduated from the Mackintosh School of Architecture, Glasgow School of Art in 1997 and worked in London for several years on the design of notable high profile and international award-winning schemes. St John has a wealth of experience in running and working on complex projects both in the Republic of Ireland and the United Kingdom. He oversaw the Spencer Dock Apartment Buildings in Dublin docklands, and the new Education Hub Building and John Paul II Library extension and refurbishment for the National University of Ireland, Maynooth. He also oversaw the completion of the new School of Biological Sciences for Queen’s University, Belfast and the design of the masterplan and regeneration of Ballymun, Dublin. St. John is currently Project Director for various public and private sector residential projects being developed across the Dublin metropolitan area. 

His work is inspired by the design philosophy of Jan Gehl – “First life, then spaces, then buildings - the other way around never works”. He is passionate about creating sustainable communities, based on sound placemaking principles and interconnections with wider established neighbourhoods.
