Rebecca is an Associate of STW. In her role as Project Architect, she has led several of the very largest projects undertaken by the practice.
Aside from the specific requirements of any one building type, super-projects (€250m+) present a distinct set of challenges in terms of phasing, logistics and the management of very large teams.
Rebecca’s natural leadership abilities in undertaking projects of this nature is itself a specialist skill which she has brought to bear on large projects across a variety of sectors including hotel, leisure and commercial projects.
As Project Architect for the redevelopment of the world’s oldest international rugby ground into the modern 50,000 seater Aviva Stadium, she led a huge team to create a stunning arena on a constrained urban site bounded by a river and a live railway line.
Having also completed very large projects in the hotel and commercial sectors, Rebecca is now applying her skills to the design of two 15,000m2 primary health care centres against exceptionally tight deadlines as part of a design-build team, and the redevelopment of a 45,000 spectator stadium in Cork.
As an early pioneer of BIM, Rebecca has been a passionate advocate for the introduction and adoption of BIM across our practice. She has undertaken two diplomas in Collaborative BIM and BIM Technologies and is a Certified Revit Professional. Her expert input to the development of design team protocols to maximise the collaborative power of this software has been invaluable to driving our BIM maturity to Level 2 and beyond.
